Saw Kris in London last night - solo show, and he achieved all the moody glimmer of the albums: the complex guitar work, rich singing and even foot-power percussion. Best of all he brought his keen humour to a serious folk temple and brightened the place up no end! Highlights- Shetland wedding march, Navigators, Scapa Flow 1919 & If Wishes were Horses.

Kris, this is a fantastic record. I don’t normally get as excited over best of’s, but this is so well done. New versions of already excellent songs, bringing new perspectives and some excellent new songs to boot. I highly recommend it; anyone that’s thinking “naw it’s just a mash-up of existing songs”, it’s definitely not - buy it, you won’t regret it.
